Diversity in Language and Learning - Urban PDS
Clinical experiences and student teaching for the urban Professional Development School (PDS) programs occur entirely at partner district sites. The urban PDS programs are full-time, 18-month, daytime programs that require summer teaching experiences.
Prospective students prepared to become exceptional new teachers through the Avondale, Paradise Valley, and Pendergast Professional Development Schools (PDS) receive unrivaled education and guidance throughout the program. Mentor teachers and CTEL faculty provide PDS students in-depth feedback and guidance on their development as effective classroom teachers.
Current research shows teachers prepared through the PDS model are more confident, prepared and ultimately better able to deliver student achievement results from their first year of teaching and beyond. The rural PDS programs emphasize practical classroom applications based on the latest theory, research, and best practices.
See the PDS Cohort Schedule for admission dates.
